Biography

I am a former unregistered barrister and millitary interpreter who has decided to leave the court and linguistics behind and pivot to the exciting new frontier of tech.

Why?

I am a very inquisitive person who loves figuring out how things work and why. Although my curiosity was an important skill in figuring out all of the fine details of the case in my legal career and effectivelly communicating exactly what my clients are saying when I was interpreting - I never felt like I was using my intrinsic curiosity to its full potential.

How I know tech is right for me

At first glance, law and coding have nothing in common. But I put it to you that in some ways, law is in fact, like coding. Law is a set of rules which most people tend to follow. Meanwhile, computers conform to rules absolutely. They do what you tell them to. The challenge in law is navigating the grey areas, the exceptions to rules. The challenge in coding in my opinion, is the ability to write the grey areas, so that the computer knows the existence of exceptions to rules, and thus follow them. Which is why I find coding fascinating intellectually. You set the rules. You are the law.

What can I bring to your team?

Firstly, my background has allowed me to develop several soft skills that are in demand. Written and verbal communication, attention to detail, planning, organisation, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
